Hi Dorothy,
I have a lever tap in the kitchen and after being diagnosed I decided to change the taps in the bathroom to lever taps also. My fingers were very sore to turn the original taps.
I must admit its been brilliant, no trouble turning taps anymore, I know it sounds like a lot of money (I think you could get a mixer for less than you have quoted) but it will be so much easier for you.
My husband has Parkinson's and he finds the new taps a lot easier too.
Hope this helps a bit.
I've just had a quick look on B&Q website and mixer taps start at around £60.

I've got lever mixer taps in my kitchen - I've had them for several years, long before I had RA probs. They are really nice and easy to use, and quick to get the hot/cold mix just right. These "simple things" are exactly the sort of irritations that you don't have to put up with and make a big difference to quality of life. I'm sure you'll find it worthwhile getting them changed, but do shop around for a better price

Cheers - Sylvia xx
